The Government has foreshadowed a major announcement to be made at some stage today.
This is expected to be the most significant effort yet to help businesses and their workers survive the Covid-19 pandemic, so that we can all be back to business as usual as fast as possible on the other side.
The policy is expected to be a wage subsidy plan and has already been nicknamed the “job keeper allowance”.
Initial information is indicating a $1,500 per fortnight payment for each employee that is kept on over the next 6 months, which will make a big difference to a lot of people.
The idea is to keep employers and employees connected so that we can all hit the ground running in the recovery phase, which will happen – don’t lose sight of that…
